Welcome to the Alexandria Fire Department. Since 1893, our mission has been to reduce loss of life and minimize property damage for the people in our growing community. The City of Alexandria Fire Department provides services for 8,828 residents covering 51.25 square miles, including Monroe Township and Orestes. Our department will embrace traditions, invest in technology, and challenge the status quo. We will recruit highly trained and dedicated Firefighters/Paramedics/EMTs and encourage creative thinking, along with a desire for an efficient and effective department. Our essential duties extend beyond firefighting to emergency medical services, technical rescue, hazardous materials response, fire prevention and education, fire investigation, and public relations. Through these varied services, we aim to secure the citizens and businesses of Alexandria, Monroe Township, and Orestes, ensuring our community thrives in a safe environment.
