Commuter Benefit Reimbursement Account
Through the Commuter Benefit Reimbursement Account, you can set aside money from your paycheck pre-tax to pay for work-related commuting expenses. Similar to the flexible spending accounts, the Commuter Benefit Reimbursement Account is a great way to save money by reducing your taxable income. Best of all, the state will pay the admin fee for even more savings.
As of January, you can contribute up to $280 monthly into the account. Any money left over in the account at the end of the month will roll-over giving you more flexibility. Unlike the flexible spending accounts, you can start, stop or change your contribution amount at any time. Funds can be spent as soon as they are deposited. All claims must be submitted to ASIFlex for reimbursement.

To be considered a vanpool, the highway vehicle must have a seating capacity of at least six adult passengers. At least 80% of the mileage must be for commuting and the number of employees transported must be at least half of the adult seating capacity.
Eligible expenses do not include bicycle or repairs, non-work related transit/vanpool expenses, gas or fuel, tolls, or vehicle repairs.
