Mental Health Services MOU Guidance

Senate Enrolled Act (SEA) 246 - Mental Health Services was passed in 2020 and requires a school corporation, charter school or accredited nonpublic school to certify to IDHS that it has a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in place with a community mental health center or provider certified or licensed by the state to provide mental and behavioral health services to students before applying for a grant from the Indiana Secured School Fund.

Cybersecurity Resources

Many schools are adjusting the way they are operating during the COVID-19 pandemic, including expanding their reliance on remote online learning. This presents greater risks for cybersecurity threats. Schools can learn more about cybersecurity best practices and resources by contacting their county emergency management agency, or by visiting the Indiana Cybersecurity Hub.

Indiana Secured School Fund Summary

To date, more than $100 million dollars has been invested in securing Indiana's schools through money appropriated by the Indiana general assembly, federal grants, and matching funds used by local school districts, charter schools, and nonpublic accredited schools. These funds have been used to improve building security (e.g., new doors, access control systems, video cameras), fund School Resource Officers (SROs), and perform threat assessments to determine what threats exist and how to eliminate or respond to them.
