Team Challenge

Team up with coworkers and get moving in the four statewide Team Challenges in 2026! The competition is open to employees and spouses enrolled in a State Personnel Sponsored health plan.

Help your team beat the competition by working toward a daily goal of at least 7,000 steps. You must track at least 7,000 steps each day of the challenge through a device connected to the Mobile Health Consumer portal to earn the $10 wellness reward. The team with the most steps at the end of the two week challenge wins bragging rights! The Team Leaderboard will refresh every morning, showing which teams are in the lead.

2026 Team Challenge Dates

  • March 9 - March 22: Registration closes March 9
  • July 13 - July 26: Registration opens July 6
  • October 5 - October 18: Registration opens Sept. 28
  • November 30 - December 13: Registration opens Nov. 23

Who can participate?

The Team Challenge competition is open to employees and spouses who are enrolled in a State employee health plan.

The Mobile Health Consumer portal is a coordinated benefit within the health plan and is only available to those enrolled in the health plan.

How to sign up

Registration opens one week before the Team Challenge begins. Sign up by logging in to the Mobile Health Consumer portal (or create an account), and join or create a team using one of the options below:

Option 1: Click the Team Challenge tile at the top of the home page.

Option 2: Navigate to the Rewards Center and select the Team Challenge tile from the list of rewardable activities.

Daily goal

7,000 steps each day. Earn $10 in rewards by tracking at least 7,000 steps each day of the challenge through a device connected to the Mobile Health Consumer portal, for a maximum of $40 annually.

Benefits of physical activity

Regular physical activity is an important factor in maintaining overall health. Some health benefits of regular physical activity include:

  • Regulation of blood pressure
  • Management of anxiety and depression
  • Preventing weight gain and obesity

The American College of Sports Medicine recommends at least 150 minutes of aerobic activity every week, that's just 30 minutes, five days a week.
