Guardrail End Treatment and Impact Attenuator On-Demand Training for Installers
Certification to assemble, repair, and install guardrail end treatments and impact attenuators is required by the Department for construction contracts and must be certified prior to installation. The below certification videos or learning management systems are provided and developed by the device's manufacturer and not by the Department. Furthermore, device installation manuals and information can be found below. It should be noted that the word "certification" in regards to this training confirms the installer's acknowledgment of full understanding for a device and its respective training materials.
The target audience for this training is primarily Contractors, along with select INDOT personnel.
The following outlines the installer certification process for impact attenuators and guardrail end treatments.
- Training Resources
The Department will provide the manufacturer's training resources, found below, with either an on-demand video or redirecting to the manufacturers training website. Installers that wish to have an alternative type of training may independently coordinate with manufacturers to attain certification training. Manufacturer's contract information is also listed below for your convenience. - Inventory of Certified Installers
Once an Installer is certified and receives a form of training completion from the Manufacturer, it is the responsibility of the installer to provide the form of completion to the Department for documentation. Please email the form of completion to CMSupport@indot.in.gov and include the full name of installer, date of completion, company name, and device type/name trained on. Once received, the Department will add the certification credentials to the appropriate Installer list (below) on a monthly basis. The certification period will be valid for two years passed the date of certification.
