Our Mission
The mission of the Indiana Cultural Commission is to promote cultural understanding, strengthen community engagement, and support initiatives that improve opportunity, collaboration, and representation for underrepresented communities throughout Indiana.
The Commission works to identify community needs, encourage statewide cooperation, and support efforts related to education, health, economic development, housing, civil rights, and cultural awareness.

The Indiana Cultural Commission serves communities across Indiana through four statutory subcommittees focused on:
- Black Hoosier Affairs
- Hispanic & Latino Affairs
- Hoosier Women Concerns
- Native American Indian Affairs
These subcommittees help guide outreach, engagement, research, and recommendations related to the communities they represent.
Our Purpose
Established through HEA 1003, the Indiana Cultural Commission was created to identify and study issues affecting underrepresented and minority communities across Indiana while promoting cooperation, understanding, and statewide engagement.
