View Newborn Screening Online
Pediatricians and Primary Care Providers are encouraged to obtain and review all pediatric patients' newborn screening results during their first well-child check.
Healthcare providers and support staff are granted access to newborn screening results online through the Indiana Newborn Screening Tracking & Education Program (INSTEP).
*Results are only available through INSTEP for patients born in or after 2012. To obtain results for patients born before 2012, fax a request to the NBS Lab at 317-321-2495 or the PHG NBS program at 317-234-2995.

Fax a Request for NBS Results
If you are a medical professional who is unable to obtain access to INSTEP for immediate access to NBS results for patients born in or after 2012, you may fax a request to the PHG NBS program at 317-234-2995. If the patient was born prior to 2012, fax your request to the NBS Lab at 317-321-2495 or the PHG NBS program at 317-234-2995. Include the following information on your facility’s professional letterhead:
- Patient name
- Date of birth
- Mother’s name
- Name of the facility where the patient was born.
Faxed request may take up to 10 business days to process. Request access to INSTEP for immediate access to NBS results.
