Parke County has approximately 450 miles of paved roads that the County Highway Department is responsible for, in addition to many unpaved county roadways that are not interstate highways, U.S. routes, or state roads. INDOT is responsible for constructing and maintaining those, which includes adjacent overpasses, ramps and traffic control devices, including signs and traffic signals, on those roadways.
