Logansport's Code Enforcement Division is available to assist the citizens of Logansport
in achieving an acceptable living environment for the benefit of the community and the
City.
The main purpose of many of the regulations and ordinances passed by the Logansport
Common Council are to ensure and protect our communities' health, safety, and general
welfare. The success of any regulation or ordinance depends upon the citizens and
acceptance of these ordinances.
TRASH VIOLATIONS
Hang tags will be placed on the door with ten (10) days written letter for:
- Improper accumulation of wood/brush, building materials.
- Electronics -must be taken to Cass Co. Recycling District (15 Biddle Street) phone (574) 732-9253
- Bulk pick-up day is the First Full week of the month.
- Upholstered furniture, dressers, and mattresses may be picked up on FREE bulk pick-up day. Mattresses and box springs must be completely WRAPPED in PLASTIC.
- If bulk day is missed. Large items will require Three (3)-$3.00 trash stickers, which can be purchased at Mc Cords (2865 E. Market Street), Martin's Super Market (3420 E. Market Street) and D&R Fruit Market (931 W. Market Street)
- Appliances containing Freon-may be picked up by the Street Department (612 Race Street) phone (574)753-4610, pay $12.00 cash/check.Inoperable/abandoned vehicles-contact Code Enforcement (574) 725-2820.
If violation is NOT corrected within ten (10) days from the date of the letter. The Property Owner will be sent a Notice of Fine for $150.00 and the property will be cleaned up by the City. The owner will be responsible for the clean-up costs.
Notice of Fine and Clean up Billings are payable in person or mail to: City of Logansport, Code Enforcement Office (located at the Logansport Police Station), 729 High Street, Logansport, IN 46947
GRASS VIOLATIONS
Letters are issued with grass that is taller than eight (8) inches or weeds and/or rank vegetation is in violation.
- Property is re-inspected in ten (10) days from the letter issue date.
- If property is still in violation, it will be mowed by the City and the owner will be billed.
- First violation -$150.00
- Second violation -$200.00
- Third Violation and any additional violations - $350.00
