The City Clerk-Treasurer serves as the Finance Officer and the Clerk of the City.
The Clerk-Treasurer’s daily mission is to provide accountability for all public funds, assets, policies and systems, in the most effective and efficient manner while delivering responsive, quality customer service with honesty and integrity to our citizens and fellow employees.
No other elected municipal duties are as specifically defined by law as the duties of the Clerk-Treasurer. This person maintains the accounting records of the City, audits and certifies all expenditures of City funds by appropriation, and as custodian of all public funds, maximizes earning potential of all cash reserves.
As Clerk of the City, the Clerk-Treasurer maintains the records of the Board of Public Works and Safety and Common Council, including the minutes, contract files, ordinances, resolutions and the City Code.
