City Council

About the City Council

City Councils in Indiana serve as the legislative branch of city government. They are responsible for passing ordinances, adopting budgets, setting local policies, and overseeing city finances. Council members are elected every four years by residents and work with the mayor to govern the community.

The Ligonier City Council consists of five members representing three Districts and two At-Large positions.

District 1: Chris Fought - Council President Pro-Tempore

District 2:  Brian Hite

District 3: Doretta Wiegand

Meeting Schedule

The Ligonier City Council meets on the second (2nd) and fourth (4th) Monday of each month at 7:00pm at the Ligonier City Hall located at 301 S. Cavin Street (2nd Floor).
