Mission Statement

The Ligonier Fire Department is committed to providing the highest level of public safety service for our community. Protecting lives and property through fire suppression, emergency medical care, rescue, disaster management, fire prevention, and public education.

Other Department Services

The department operates with a combination of full-time municipal firefighters and trained volunteer firefighters, working together to provide 24/7 emergency services to the community.

Full-time staff manage daily operations, maintain equipment and facilities, and respond to a wide range of emergencies, including structure fires, vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and medical emergencies. Volunteer firefighters play a vital role in supporting the department, responding to calls as needed and assisting during major incidents or periods of high demand. All members of the department participate in regular training to ensure readiness and safety.

Together, the municipal and volunteer personnel form a dedicated team committed to the safety and well-being of the community.
