Recreation
Perry Township offers a public park and other recreational opportunities.
The park is located on US 35 just west of Poplar Street and is open to residents and non-residents alike. It does not have a restroom. The park closes at 10:00 PM.
In 2025, Perry Township and the Town of Economy partnered to upgrade the playground equipment to a modern play experience for young people. Some of the old school playground equipment have also been refurbished. There is a small shelter with seating near the playground equipment. Attached to the Lions Club Den is a sheltered picnic area with tables.
The park also features a pickleball court with a permanent net. If you have your own portable nets, the court has been laid out for two courts, one on either side of the permanent net.
On the paved portion of the park are two basketball goals.
Wi-Fi is available at the park.
The Lions Club Den is available for rent. It is heated and cooled and features a large meeting room, a full kitchen, and a restroom.
The meeting room has countertop space and a large white board and will comfortably seat as many as 50 people. The kitchen has ample countertop space for food prep and serving, a large gas range, a large refrigerator, and sinks for clean-up!

The Economy gym, the former home of the Economy High School Cardinals, was built in 1922. It is unofficially the oldest remaining, wood frame high school gymnasium in Indiana.
The gym is a popular venue for a variety of sport and non-sport activities. It is available for rent by the hour with a two-hour minimum. It features the original wood basketball court, bleachers, stage, and a restroom. The gym is ideal for birthday parties, play dates, family reunions, auctions, basketball and volleyball, to name a few activities.

The Cardinal Greenway runs east-to-west through Perry Township and is part of a 62-mile-long linear park covering five counties in Eastern Indiana: Wayne, Randolph, Henry, Delaware, and Grant. In addition, there is a 15-mile spur from Gaston to Jonesboro. The Greenway’s eastern terminus is in Richmond, and the western terminus is near Marion in Grant County. It is the longest rail-to-trail in Indiana.
There are three trailheads in Perry Township: Newman Road, Economy Road, and Jacksonburg Road. Each trailhead features a parking area and restroom accommodation. The stretch between the Economy and Jacksonburg trailheads is especially picturesque.
