MPH helped Indiana fight COVID-19 with data
MPH supported Indiana’s COVID‑19 response by providing critical data during a period of uncertainty. While many operations slowed, MPH increased its production of data resources that informed decision‑making across the State of Indiana. Through dashboards, studies and collaborative initiatives, MPH worked to bring timely and accessible information to the public throughout the pandemic.
Because of established relationships with state agencies and external partners, MPH was able to foster early collaboration and meaningful engagement during the response effort. This foundation enabled faster turnaround times for data requests and visualizations that would have otherwise taken significantly longer.
Key projects included publishing COVID‑19–specific datasets on the Indiana Data Hub, supporting the ISDH COVID‑19 dashboards and contributing to Regenstrief Institute’s hospital‑centric response dashboards. The data infrastructure developed by MPH allowed the State and its partners to mobilize quickly and use data in a meaningful way throughout the crisis.
