Online Recertification
Online recertification for breath test operators is available at https://recert.isdt.in.gov/recertification. By participating in this recertification process, you agree that your agency will pay a $40.00 recertification fee. Your department will be invoiced upon successful completion of the recertification process.
Recertification must be completed prior to the expiration date printed on the current breath test operator identification card. It is recommended that officers do not wait until the last few days of the month to recertify. Officers who attempt to complete the recertification process after expiration of their previous certification will not be able to recertify and will need to contact the Indiana State Department of Toxicology.
Automated certification expiration reminder emails will be sent to the operator's email address on file. Each operator is required to enter an email address when creating an account and to confirm or modify that email address at the time of each recertification, and is responsible for ensuring their account information is updated when it is no longer current. Operators can verify or modify their account information, including their email addresses, by logging in at https://recert.isdt.in.gov/recertification.
Absent extenuating circumstances, requests for extensions to complete online recertification after expiration of the current certification will no longer be granted. Failure to receive a reminder email is not an extenuating circumstance that will justify a request for extension to complete recertification.
