GoAnywhere Data Exchange project launch moves to Nov. 12

As has been previously mentioned to all IT Directors, the Indiana Office of Technology is decommissioning Cerberus, the SFTP product, and replacing it with GoAnywhere. Based on agency feedback, the cutover date is now November 12th.

SME's from various agencies are enlisted to complete required post-migration validation to ensure that this migration plan is successful. As excitement has built through agencies, several have reached out to the IOT Data Exchange Team (DX Team) requesting to add more testers, ask clarifying questions, and comment on their preparedness.

In response to the level and type of feedback the DX Team has received and the lead time requirements of some external agency partners to complete their associated tasks, the team determined that a late October cutover was not possible. Per the information received, a mid-November cutover date would be more appropriate.

The new cutover date is November 12th, with a backup date of November 19th. If your agency has external partners who need to complete whitelisting or other associated tasks, please have your teams reach out to your vendors now to ensure they are ready by November 12th.

Access Indiana surpasses 1 million users; named a finalist in NASCIO’s State IT Recognition Awards

Access Indiana (https://access.IN.gov), a Next Level project initiated by Governor Eric. J. Holcomb and managed by the Office of Technology has surpassed one million users. Access Indiana is a single sign-on system that provides a more streamlined and secure approach to government services. With a single username and password, users can access 43 services.

Users have access to a variety of services on their personal dashboard including the Indiana Vaccination Portal, DNR Fish & Wildlife, myLicense, INBiz, DRIVE and more.

Access Indiana was also recently named a finalist in the National Association of State Chief Information Officers’ (NASCIO) State IT Recognition Awards.  NASCIO members reviewed over 110 submissions and narrowed the nominees to three finalists per category.

The award nominations showcase the use of information technology to address critical business problems, easily connect citizens to their government, improve business processes and create new opportunities that improve the lives of citizens.

“I urged the creation of Access Indiana to make it more convenient and simple to get services from or do business with the State of Indiana. Access Indiana is an easy, one-stop shop for a variety of important state government services,” Gov. Eric Holcomb said. “Only two years ago we implemented this portal with only one application - but now with more than 40 services – which previously needed separate logins, users can today use one username and one password to get to them all. That is efficient government service and how we are taking “One Indiana, For All” to the next level.”

If you are interested in adding your application to the Access Indiana portfolio, contact Graig Lubsen.

Behind the Tech: Brad Fehr

In 2005 the Indiana Office of Technology was created to provide cost-effective, secure, consistent, reliable enterprise-technology services to state government. IOT offers more than 120 technology products supported and serviced by expert staff with licenses or certifications in 62 technical areas. Behind the Tech is a spotlight on the staff that provides services for 30,000 state employees.

Brad Fehr supports technicians and other IOT teams with shipping/receiving in the Dispatch department. He assigns tickets, handles correspondence with vendors and IOT or other agencies requesting items delivered to Dispatch.

What does an average day look like for Fehr?

He keeps the ticket queue up-to-date, inventories incoming assets, takes calls from techs, and interfaces with HP for repair, shipping and parts multiple times per day.

What’s Fehr’s favorite thing about his job?

“The people I work with - many interesting & talented individuals… learning their interests,” he said. “I hope to take away the friendships I’ve made that outlast the mere commonly-shared employment.”

Fehr receives many tickets a day, with many unique questions from users.

“I wish I’d written some down, but just recently a user responded re: OneDrive & VPN … ‘I have no idea what you are talking about I know nothing about computers’… I loved the frankness, and it tells how hard IOT teams have had to work with remote users who think a Hard Drive is Chicago rush hour.”

What’s something no one knows about Fehr?

Fresh out of college he led camping trips in the Everglades for school students.
