Help Showcase FSSA on the National Stage

The 2019 National Urban League Annual Conference Getting 2 Equal: United Not Divided is in Indianapolis next week at the Indiana Convention Center.  The National Urban League Annual Conference hosts the nation's leading political, business, and community leaders to focus on sharing ideas and discovering solutions to issues that have historically plagued underserved urban communities across the country. The goal of the annual conference is to arm each participant with real-world solutions to urban challenges and empower them to be a change-leader in their respective communities.

As part of the conference, FSSA will have a booth to showcase our programs and services in front of a national audience and will need staff to work it during the three-day conference. Staff will be needed to work the booth from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, Friday, July 26, and Saturday, July 27. You may sign up to work two-hour shifts or more.

Individuals who wish to represent FSSA on the national stage should review the documents listed below. The deadline for signing up to work is July 23, 2019, and follow-up information will be sent to those working the booth.

  • Adjusted work schedules: Staff is encouraged to sign up for available shifts. Persons offering their time must have approval from their supervisor and are expected to work at the booth for their assigned shift(s).
    • Staff who work at an event representing FSSA should consider this as work-time using an adjusted work schedule when filling out their timesheet within that same week for overtime-eligible staff and within the same pay period for exempt staff.
    • For example, if you go to an event on a Saturday and represent FSSA at a booth and work that booth for a three-hour shift, you can add this time to your timesheet and deduct 3 hours from a regular workday within that same week (or pay period, if you are exempt).
  • 2019 sign-up sheets: Employees representing FSSA should indicate their shift preference(s) on the sign-up sheet. A limited number of workers will be approved for each shift.

Please direct your questions to Tyson Runkle and completed sign-up sheets may be emailed to Tyson.runkle@fssa.in.gov, who will follow up to confirm shift dates/times.
