C.R.E.S.T. - Care and Restoration through Emotional Stress and Trauma

What Is CREST?

The CREST Team at NDI is a Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team made up of peer staff members trained to offer psychological first aid and emotional support after a traumatic or highly stressful event in the hospital.

CISM is an adaptive method of mental health support that helps normalize reactions, mitigate the effects of stress, and promote a return to normal productivity.

What Does CREST Do?

  • Provides confidential 1-on-1 or small group support to staff following traumatic hospital events
  • Offers focused listening and emotional first aid in a safe, non-judgmental space
  • Aims to help staff process events, reduce stress impact, and restore well-being
  • Available days, nights, and weekends

Team Training

All members receive Critical Incident Stress Management training from the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.
