State Workforce Development Board

Overview

Governor Mike Braun signed Executive Order 25-77 on December 29, 2025, reconstituting Indiana’s State Workforce Development Board (SWDB). The SWDB serves as the primary advisory body to the Governor on workforce development strategy, policy, and system alignment. Established under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), the SWDB plays a critical role in shaping a coordinated business-driven workforce system that meets the needs of employers, jobseekers and communities across the state.

The SWDB brings together leaders from business, workforce, education, labor, and community-based organizations to guide investments, improve outcomes and ensure accountability across federally and state-funded workforce programs.

Board Membership

The SWDB is comprised of members appointed by the Governor and reflects a diverse cross-section of stakeholders to ensure balanced representation and informed decision making. See 20 CFR 679.110(b) for full membership requirements.
