Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs awards grants aimed at supporting veteran services

More than $400,000 awarded statewide through the Grants for Veterans’ Services program

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA) announced today it has awarded more than $400,000 to 15 organizations across the state through the Grants for Veterans’ Services (GVS) program. The organizations selected will use the funds to support programs focused on preventing veteran homelessness, preventing veteran suicide, providing therapeutic services, providing job training and job search assistance, and assisting veterans in finding and using available resources.

“The GVS program provides nonprofit organizations the financial support to provide direct services to Indiana veterans,” said Dennis Wimer, director of the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs. “These grants provide flexibility and nimbleness to help more veterans in the communities they live in and continues IDVA’s mission to Support, Serve and Advocate for the Indiana Veteran Community.”
