The Martin County Assessor’s office maintains the property records for all taxing districts. The Property Record cards contain the property characteristics and the assessed value based on Market Value In Use. We also maintain sales information on properties sold for the entire county.
Here, you will find links to many forms, documents, and information related to the reassessment, including a link to the property database on the Courthouse Online website. It is the duty of the Assessor’s office to value all properties uniformly and fairly for real estate tax purposes.
For taxpayers with less than $2,000,000 in acquisition costs to report within the county, IC 6-1.1-3-7.2 exempts this property. If you are claiming this exemption, check the box on the form, enter the total acquisition cost of your personal property in the county, and complete only Sections I, II and IV of the form. If you are claiming this exemption through this form, you must also file Form 104. If you filed a return and claimed this exemption in a previous assessment year and you continue to qualify for this exemption, no return is required.

Notes
- Real property is assessed on January 1 of each year.
- Personal property is assessed on January 1 of each year. Forms are to be filed annually by May 15.
- Annual Assessed Mobile Homes are assessed and taxed in the current year.
- Taxes are due (for the previous year’s assessment) in the Treasurer’s Office on May 10 and November 10.
