Perry Township does not directly offer shelter. However, provided below is a list of resources you might be able to access for free or reduced priced food and shelter available to those who qualify. For more information on who may qualify, read the general information provided for each location or visit their website.

Free or Reduced Priced Food

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program is a special nutrition program that provides supplemental foods, nutrition counseling, and access to health services to low-income women, infants, and children under the age of five.

Food Stamp Program

The Food Stamp Program provides benefits to low-income people that they can use to buy food to improve their diets. Food stamp recipients spend their benefits to buy eligible food in authorized retail food stores.

Mother Hubbard's Cupboard

A food pantry with 900 visitors per week.

Community Kitchen

A hunger relief organization serving about 400 meals per day from two locations. The main facility is provided by Perry Township. They also operate a secondary Express location.

Bloomington Housing Authority

The BHA operates three affordable housing communities and provides more than 1,300 Housing Choice Vouchers, also known as Section 8, that allow income eligible families to rent in the private market. Along with housing assistance, the BHA maintains active service coordination programs including the Family Self-Sufficiency Program and Step Up Program.
