Meeting Minutes
The meeting is called to order at 11:00am.
Members Present: Jack Davis, Barb Sturbaum, Susie Hamilton, Dan Combs
Non-Members Present: Sharon Yoder, Branden Surigao
Funding Request from Community Groups
Due to the state order the Township’s budget has been cut significantly. Sharon, Dan, and Branden spent a lot of time coming up with where to make the budget cuts and unfortunately most of
those budget cuts have to be community service groups. A letter was drafted to each group informing them that it was time to send in their request letters but also warning them about the changes going on with legislature and the possible budget cuts. Dan provided the board with his recommendations and those were discussed in depth. It was discussed that in January an additional appropriation could be made. Barb moves to accept the budget as is, Jack agrees, Susie disagrees with the community services amounts. The budget approval is set for another date.
Perry Township Budget Items
The Food Pantry fund is for buying food from Hoosier Hills and then wholesale stores and butchers. The Emergency Shelter Fund (set-a-side) is money put aside that would be used if we had to
take over or close the shelter.
Budget Review
The increase in growth quotient was 4 percent. Employee wages were discussed by the Board and the Trustee. Rainy Day Fund and/or Capital Improvement plan has a budget for a new roof for
building “A”, pantry upgrades, buying a township vehicle, phone and computer upgrades, etc.
Other
Dan is meeting with Chris, William, and one of the potential buyers in the next day or so about selling the property and will have more information for the board at the next meeting.
