Black Township Fire and Rescue was first organized in 1952 and was the first fire department for the southern half of Posey County. Today, Black Township Fire and Rescue is a combination fire department with two stations - 5775 Industrial Road and 4260 E. Copperline Road. We cover 134 miles in Black and Lynn Townships, protecting a mix of residential, commercial, rural, and industrial firefighting. With the Wabash and Ohio Rivers in our township, we are also involved in water rescues as they arise.
