Golf Cart Rules and Regulations Reminders
- Golf Carts must have a current sticker to be legal. You cannot not drive a golf cart with an expired sticker to Town Hall to get a new sticker.
- Golf cart registrations are good for January 1 to December 31
- Consult the back of registration for Town Ordinance 2023-019.
- Drivers must be 16 or older
- Passengers must be 36 inches or taller
- No driving or parking on sidewalks, trails, or state highways.
- Golf carts may not carry more passengers than it is equipped to handle
- The golf cart must have a slow-moving vehicle sign (orange triangle)
- Owner must have registration and insurance card on golf cart while operating
- Operators of golf carts under influence of alcohol or drugs and are subject to arrest
- Open container laws/ordinances apply
- All passengers must be in a primary seated position
- If operated at night, the golf cart should be equipped with working turn signals, headlights, and taillights.
- Operators must follow all other standard motor vehicle laws
- Anyone violating any of the provisions of Town Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of one hundred-fifty Dollars ($150.00) per violation
