The Community Pantry

Community PantryClose up of PantryThe North Manchester Public Library is proud to partner with Community Pantry NM to host a free Community Pantry on the library grounds. Established as a mutual aid space, the pantry allows neighbors to care for one another by sharing resources and supporting those in need.

Located in the NMPL Market Street entryway, the pantry is a large cabinet stocked with non-perishable food, paper goods, and hygiene supplies—available 24/7 for anyone who needs them. Community members are encouraged to take what they need, leave what they can, or stop by to help clean and restock the shelves.

The pantry has become a valuable resource for those facing food insecurity, while also serving as a symbol of compassion and cooperation in North Manchester. A local Manchester Community Schools art student painted a colorful mural on the pantry, adding both visibility and a sense of community pride.

Community members wishing to contribute can donate food (non-perishable items only please), paper supplies and hygiene items, either by leaving them in the pantry, or arranging a porch pick up by emailing communitypantrynm@gmail.com. Canned goods are appreciated, but so are items like disposable diapers, toothpaste, deodorant, hygiene products, and Kleenex.
