Conducts routine inspections of food service establishments in White County to ensure compliance with Indiana Department of Health food laws and regulations. Also issues yearly, seasonal, and temporary operating permits when minimum State requirements are met.
Investigates all consumer complaints, alleged foodborne illness reports, and any other food-related concerns.
Conducts plan reviews on all new or remodeled food service establishments in White County. Also conducts pre-operational inspections and consultations with new owners prior to the start of operation.
Provides extensive education and guidance to new and existing food establishment owners/operators on food sanitation rules and regulations.
Acts as a consultant to the White County Alcoholic Beverage Board pertaining to food service establishments holding a liquor permit.
