Assessments of Young Children (AYC)

Location:  ISBVI

An assessment window for children who are blind or have visual impairments, ages 2 -3.  Children can be scheduled for two - three days of specialized assessments including psychological evaluations, speech evaluations, OT/PT, and Functional Vision and Learning Media as needed for consideration of special education services when transitioning into the local school.  Registration coming soon.

An interactive conference for BLV teachers, professionals, and parents to learn, discuss, and brainstorm topics within our unique field.   

2019 Indiana Regional Braille Challenge


Students from around the state completed in a braille literacy competition on Saturday, March 2, 2019, for a chance to win and compete in the National Braille Challenge - a national program by the Braille Institute of America.

5th Annual Cane Quest Pilot


"CANE QUEST" is a fun, new annual orientation and mobility contest sponsored by Braille Institute, open to eligible blind and visually impaired youth in grades 3 - 12.  It's a great way for O&M Specialists and parents to motivate students to sharpen their skills."   ---Braille Institute
