2019 Indiana Regional Braille Challenge

Students from around the state compete in a braille literacy competition for a chance to win and compete a the National Braille Challenge, a national program by the Braille Institute of America.

Assessments of Young Children (AYC)
Monday, May 13, 2019 - Friday, May 24, 2019
An assessment window for children who are blind or have visual impairments, ages 2 -3. Children can be scheduled for two - three days of specialized assessments including psychological evaluations, speech evaluations, OT/PT, and Functional Vision and Learning Media as needed for consideration of special education services when transitioning into the local school. Summer Training and Employment Program (STEP)
For students 16 - 21 currently enrolled in an Indiana High School Program

STEP is a summer program designed to provide high school students who are blind or visually impaired the opportunity to receive vocational training and support while working a paying job within the local community.
Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) Camp
For students ages 9 - 15
June 17 - June 21, 2019
Cost: $75 Registration Fee
One full-week of overnight camping! This camp is for students who are blind or have low vision. Campers will be participating in daily activities aligned with STEM standards. Activities will include designing boats, archery, horseback riding, racing go-carts, and much more!
For students ages 10 - 15
June 24 - June 28, 2019
Cost: $50 Registration Fee
This camp is a NEW dynamic sports camp for pre-teen and teens to explore the areas of independence, social interaction, orientation and mobility, and more. Students will stay overnight and participate in nightly, off-campus activities throughout the week.
