2027 Budget & Tax Levy Adoption
NOTICE OF HEARING
The Board of Directors of the Indian Boundary Conservancy District will meet at 7:00 p.m. on October 8, 2026, at the Bertha Wood Room, Westchester Public Library – Thomas Branch, 200 W. Indiana Ave., Chesterton, IN 46304. At that meeting a public hearing will be convened prior to the Board of Directors’ consideration of an amendment to Sewer Rate Ordinance No. 24-03, Section 1, Class I – Residential, which originally established a schedule of rates and charges for the collection by the District from the owners of property served by the sewage works of the District and other matters connected therewith. Upon completion of the public hearing, the Board of Directors will consider adoption of an amendment to the aforementioned original rate ordinance increasing the monthly sewage service charge for the residential class of users to $22.00 per month for each equivalent single family dwelling unit, effective January 1, 2027.

LEGAL NOTICE - 2026 ANNUAL MEETING
The Governing Board of the Indian Boundary Conservancy District will convene the 2026 annual meeting at 7:00 p.m. on February 12, 2026, at the Westchester Public Library – Baugher Center located at 100 W. Indiana Ave., Chesterton, Indiana. There is one directorship position up for election at the annual meeting. That directorship position serves that portion of the conservancy district located in Wake Robin Fields and East Wake Robin. The Incumbent Boad member, Raymond Rutkowski, has filed a valid and timely nominating petition for reelection. No other candidates filed nominating petitions and as such there will be no contested election. Incumbent Board Member Raymond Rutkowski will be sworn in for a full four-year term on the Governing Board. The Governing Board will also organize by electing from its membership a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson.
The Governing Board will answer any questions or concerns posed by any freeholder in attendance at the annual meeting. Any and all Indian Boundary Conservancy District freeholders are invited and encouraged to participate in the annual meeting.
