File a Discrimination Complaint
If you believe you have experienced discrimination, the Indiana Civil Rights Commission may be able to help.
Before filing, it is important to understand what we can investigate and how the process works.
Deadlines apply. You may have as little as 180 days to file.
Housing
Renting, buying, lending, or advertising in housing
Employment
Hiring, firing, pay, promotions, workplace treatment
Education
Schools, programs, and educational institutions
Public Accommodation
Businesses or places open to the public
Credit
Loans, financing, and credit decisions
Filing Deadlines Matter
You must file your complaint within a certain timeframe. If you miss the deadline, we may not be able to investigate.
- Employment, Education, Public Accommodation, and Credit complaints must be filed within 180 days of when the alleged act of discrimination occurred
- Housing discrimination complaints must be filed within one year of the date the alleged discriminatory act occurred
