35th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Indiana Holiday Celebration
The Indiana Civil Rights Commission invites you to join us for the 35th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Indiana Holiday Celebration on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 12PM – 1PM at the Indiana Statehouse. Each year we gather with partners, community members, and state leaders to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King and to reflect on the work that continues to move Indiana forward.
This year’s program will feature uplifting remarks, a musical performance, and a special wreath presentation by the Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Together we will celebrate Dr. King’s vision of unity, justice, and service while recognizing the progress Indiana continues to make.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., born on January 15, 1929, dedicated his life to advancing civil rights, expanding opportunity, and encouraging communities to come together in service. Thanks to the leadership of Indiana Congresswoman Katie Beatrice Hall, his birthday is honored as a federal holiday across the country. Indiana proudly continues this tradition to reflect on his impact and renew our commitment to his vision each year.
We hope you will join us for this important celebration. Please share this event with your networks and help us continue Dr. King’s mission throughout our communities.
