Infection Control Assessment and Response (ICAR) Program
Background
The ICAR is a CDC-funded program focused on supporting state-driven efforts to assess and improve infection prevention practices and guide quality improvement activities. The assessments are completely voluntary and non-punative.
Assessment Tools
The following tools are used by state health departments for infection prevention assessments. These tools may also be used by healthcare facilities to conduct internal quality improvement assessments.
