About the Healthcare Engineering Program
The mission of the Healthcare Engineering Program at the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) is to improve the health and safety of healthcare, school, and childcare facilities. The program reviews and approves construction plans for regulated facilities to assure that they are constructed in accordance with state and nationally recognized medical, health, safety, and accessibility standards.
The Healthcare Engineering Program consists of engineering programs in support of healthcare licensing and certification programs for acute care and long-term care providers, children's group home/private secure home, and childcare institutions (excluding child daycare centers).
