Council IN Community
March 2025: We're Here All Year
The Indiana Governor's Council for People with Disabilities is inviting Hoosiers to participate in the Council's upcoming leadership and community summit as part of its March 2025 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month celebration. The theme for this event is "We're Here All Year," highlighting the importance of community belonging all year round—not just in the month of March.
People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD), family members of people with ID/DD across the lifespan, and community members who support people with ID/DD as friends, neighbors, colleagues, or in a professional capacity are invited to attend this two-day "come-as-you-are" learning journey and gathering.
Date: Monday, March 10 to Tuesday, March 11.
Time: Check-in will begin at 12:00 PM (EST) Monday, March 10, and 9:00 AM (EST) Tuesday, March 11.
Location: Garrison Conference Center, 6002 N. Post Road Indianapolis, IN 46216 in Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park.
Cost: Free to the community, but space is limited!
Council members will participate in a closed morning session to connect and build community with one another. Afternoon sessions will open to the full community to provide a space for reflection, set the course for Council's mission and vision, and collaborate on the development process of the Council's 2027-2032 State Plan. The final agenda will be available soon.
The last day to submit your RSVP is February 28. If you have any questions, please call Robin Martinez by phone at 317.232.7772 or by email at RMartinez@gcpd.in.gov.
