Early Issuance of February Snap Benefits

On Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, FSSA issued Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits for the month of February. SNAP benefits are usually issued to recipients according to an alphabetical schedule over a 19 day period throughout the month. This one-time early benefit distribution was identified by USDA Food and Nutrition Service officials as an opportunity to provide SNAP benefits during the partial federal government shutdown.

With February SNAP benefits issued on Jan. 16, no SNAP benefits will be issued in the month of February. January benefits were distributed according to the normal schedule and FSSA will continue to accept and process applications for benefits for January issuance through January 31.

Informational posters about this one-time change are available below and may be posted in appropriate public areas.
