80's Week at FSSA a SECC Event

Crack open a Tab, turn up the Huey Lewis in the DeLorean and bust out the hairspray and crimper because it’s 80s week at FSSA!

All next week, Oct. 26 – 30,  will be an all-staff event for the SECC campaign, and to celebrate it will be an 80s themed and jeans week!  Over the course of the week staff will be able to dress* and participate in that day’s theme, listed below, and wear jeans. This year there is no cost to participate in the week’s events.  All that we ask is that if your office or team does participate that you send photos to Office.Communications@fssa.IN.gov so that we may post them to FSSA social media, The Hub, and the FSSA Update.

If you would like to make a pledge through the SECC campaign a payroll deduction is the quickest and easiest way to contribute and may be done by using either the paper pledge form, available here, or through the SECC webpage. A payroll deduction also has a more lasting influence as the charity of your choosing will receive funds throughout the year and will know how much they have pledged to them. This helps the charity use your donation more strategically to make a stronger impact.

*FSSA’s dress for the day dress code is still in place so please use your best judgment according to your work schedule and meetings.

SECC 80s week

• Monday – Mask decoration
  Can you 80s up that mask or face shield? Maybe add a Splash of acid wash to it? Do your best to add some 80s flair to your protective ware or area.
• Tuesday -  Team meeting backgrounds
  Do you have a Teams meeting scheduled? Change your background to the most 80s thing you can find.  Pro tip: desktop wallpapers will work.
• Wednesday – 80s hair
  How big can you get that hair? Will you be mistaken for a hair metal band member or are you more of a Flock of Seagulls super fan?  Let’s see who in the office uses enough hairspray to put another hole in the ozone layer.
• Thursday – Let’s get spooky
  Show off your most 80s inspired spookiness through carved pumpkins, baked goods (Freddie Kruger (Lady)Fingers?) or other craftiness and Stranger Things!  Take photos and send them to OCM email (Office.Communications@fssa.IN.gov) and we’ll post them to The Hub and FSSA Twitter!
• Friday – 80s movie character
  Dress up as your favorite 80s movie character! Are you Ferris? Ducky? A member of the Breakfast Club? The Kid (aka Prince in Purple Rain)? A Ghostbuster? Indiana Jones? Axel Foley? Any Molly Ringwald character? Let’s see!
