Department Head: Misty Moss, Business Administrator

Scope of department

  • Business Administration consists of staff from the following areas: Business administrator, cost accounting, hillside bank, patient accounts, mailroom, payroll, and purchasing.
  • Provides financial data to the LSH administration and other agencies for fiscal decision-making, cost control, reimbursement, and rate setting.
  • Serves LSH consumers and the Hospital by accounting for all cash and business transactions.
  • Provides banking services for LSH consumers.
  • Assists LSH consumers requiring outside medical treatment and clothing.
  • Bills and collects from LSH consumers and responsible parties fees incurred during their stay at Logansport State Hospital.
  • Enrolls LSH consumers in the 590 programs, Medicaid and Medicare D.
  • Provides mail service for LSH consumers and LSH employees.
  • Handles all department purchase requests and enters all purchases and contracts into PeopleSoft following all State procurement rules and regulations.
  • Provides customer service for all LSH employees and vendors of the facility.
  • Prepares payroll and related reports, maintains leave balances, calculates hours worked and on leave, responds to financial information requests for all of Logansport State Hospital employees.
