Please note: At this time all Indiana state psychiatric hospitals are following the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid guidelines and restricting all visitation at this time unless essential for medical care and/or end of life. As a system we continue to follow the updated guidance from CMS, which is available by clicking here.
Evansville Psychiatric Children’s Center takes an interdisciplinary approach that provides strategies for the child’s biological, psychological and social treatment at the same time. All of our staff go through many hours of training to each play their important part in the approach. Youth are learning by two main methods, modeling and teaching, through therapeutic relationships established with the treatment staff.
Our staff believe in recovery and always approach situations with a trauma-informed frame of reference. We know that a program must balance warmth, caring, respect and compassion with the right amount of firmness, realistic tolerances and excellent teaching to help children learn and grow. We look forward to being a change agent for children and families in need.
