JAG Indiana Wins Three Awards at JAG National Training Seminar
The Indiana chapter of Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) recently received three prestigious awards at this year’s JAG National Training Seminar held in Louisville. Hosted annually, the seminar brings together program teachers, managers, trainers, and administrators from across the country for hands on workshops aimed at enhancing the delivery of services, equipping young people with the tools to succeed in school, work, and life.
“JAG Indiana not only empowers our students to succeed in school and work- it also helps set the bar for excellence across the country,” said Josh Richardson, Commissioner. “We’re proud of the work our team does to ensure our staff and students excel.”
JAG Indiana was given the following awards for its performance and innovation in advancing youth education and workforce readiness:
- The “6 of 6” Award, presented to JAG state affiliates, regions, and chapters which exceed all six JAG National performance metrics focused on graduation and employment. These metrics include graduation rate, employment rate, full-time employment, total full-time positive outcomes, student connectivity rate, and further education rates.
- The Top 10 Scholarship Award, presented to the states with the top ten highest totals of scholarships awarded to high school students in their state. This year Indiana finished in third place, raising $26,275,671.62 in scholarships.
- The Disruptor Award, which recognizes JAG Affiliates who are leaders in the use of technology to advance and innovate the implementation of the JAG program.
“The JAG Indiana team is proud of what we accomplished this year,” said Brianna Morse, Director of Youth Initiatives and JAG Indiana. “We look forward to seeing these scholarship recipients and program graduates shape their futures in communities across the state.”
