Introduction to the Training Grant

IDOE has been awarded a 2022 USDA Team Nutrition Grant to provide incentivized training to Indiana School Nutrition Professionals.

This virtual training aims to increase knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy related to providing quality and nutritious school meals meeting the meal pattern requirements. We are offering 40 Hours of Free Virtual Training for Directors and Managers and 8 Hours of Free Training for Front Line Staff. Training topics include Meal Pattern, Components and Dietary Specifications, Menu Planning, Food Preparation, Procurement, and more.

This training is free and is accompanied by cash incentives! The first 250 Directors and 250 Managers that complete the 40 hours of training within six months will be rewarded $500. The first 250 frontline staff that complete the eight hours of training within six months will be rewarded $100.

Additionally, participants may be eligible for educational extender packages and subgrants for their programs after the training is complete.
