IC 20-24-1-2.5 defines an authorizer as one of the following:
- Subject to IC 20-24-2.2-1.2, a governing body (school corporation);
- A state educational institution that offers a four (4) year baccalaureate degree;
- The executive (as defined in IC 36-1-2-5) of a consolidated city (Indianapolis Mayor’s Office);
- The charter board;
- Subject to IC 20-24-2.2-1.2, a governing board of a nonprofit college or university that provides a four (4) year educational program for which it awards a baccalaureate or more advanced degree, including the following.
Any school corporation, state educational institution or nonprofit college or university not listed on this site do not currently operate as a charter school authorizer.
