ICJI's Traffic Safety Division’s FY2021 Comprehensive Hoosier Highway’s Injury Reduction Program (CHIRP) provides programs that can be comprehensively applied for in IntelliGrants. The program focuses federal funding assistance in areas that have a maximum probability of reducing death and injury on roadways. Indiana's emphasis areas are alcohol, drug impairment, speed, occupant protection and youth. Project activity should be directed toward one or more of these emphasis areas. Activity must focus on the reduction of fatal and serious injury crashes. Applicants will select any and/or all programs in one collective application process. The deadline to apply was May 15, 2020.
Traffic enforcement grantees must submit fiscal and program reports in IntelliGrants and the Operation Pull Over (OPO) Database. Fiscal reports requesting reimbursement may include as supporting documentation:
All officers working grant-funded time must complete an activity detail sheet linked above for the enforcement period and may complete a Personnel Services Log (Excel sheet) to clarify officers’ pay for reimbursement. An Administrative Log (Excel Sheet) must be completed and signed for administrative expenses being reimbursed.
Use the observational seatbelt survey forms (Excel sheet) as required before and after the “Click It or Ticket” mobilization. Such surveys are optional for other mobilizations.
