Our Trustee Comments:

Welcome to the Veale Township Trustee Office website. My name is Bill Killion and I am the Trustee for Veale Township. I was elected during November 2022 and took office in January 1, 2023. My term of office runs from 2023 through 2026. I am very honored to be serving the residents of Veale Township as their Trustee. I am committed to provide the residents of Veale Township with excellent service. I am equally committed to the conservative management of the township funds.

We are active members of the Indiana Township Association and work with the Indiana Department of Local Government and Finance, the Indiana State Board of Accounts, and the Indiana Office of Technology to run our branch of grassroots government to comply with the laws and regulations of the State of Indiana.

William R Killion, nearly a life-long resident of Veale Township and Daviess County, moved back to Veale Township with his parents and siblings during 1963 where he attended Veale Township Elementary School.  Bill graduated from Washington High School in 1973.

Bill is a graduate of Vincennes University in 1976 with a major in pre-engineering and a 1978 graduate of Purdue University with a BSEE.

Following his graduation at Purdue, Bill began his career as a Test Equipment design engineer with Potter & Brumfield, A Siemens Company, headquartered in Princeton, Indiana during 1978.  He worked for Potter & Brumfield in several different management roles until they relocated their headquarters to Georgia in 1998.

During June 1998 – July 2001, Bill worked at Kimball Electronics Group located in Jasper, Indiana as the Manager, Quality Management.

From July 2001 – November 2002, Bill worked at Rexam Closures & Containers located in Evansville, Indiana as the Manager, Quality Assurance.

In January 2002, Bill joined Hella Electronics Corporation, a German based automotive components manufacturer, located in Flora, Illinois as the Operations Manager, Electronics. In August 2004, Bill was promoted to Plant Manager. Bill continued his employment with Hella until March 2011.

Bill worked at Flanders located in Evansville from April 2011 until September 2015 serving as the New Motors Engineering Manager; Engineering Manager, Electric Motors; and Power Systems Director, New Motors Group.

Bill retired during 2015 following a car wreck.

Bill and Maria married in 1980. They have a son, Stephen and daughter-in-law, Rachel who live in Chicago, Illinois. Bill and wife, Maria, have lived at their current residence in Veale Township since 1983.

Bill’s wife, Maria retired during 2012 following a 33-year career with Washington Community Schools serving as a French Teacher, Counselor, and Director of Counseling. Following her retirement, she worked part-time for Vincennes University as Early College Coordinator through 2016.

Bill is a member and attends of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Washington. He and Maria are co-chairpersons for the Sponsor Couple Ministry and serve on the Stewardship Committee and the Young at Heart Committee at Our Lady of Hope. Bill, additionally, serves on the Building and Grounds Committee.

Bill is a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Washington Conservation Club.

Bill enjoys traveling, bourbon collecting, gardening, yard work, working on the farm, trap shooting, target shooting, and spending time with family and friends.

Bill is very honored to serve the residents of Veale Township as their Trustee.
