Our Cemeteries

There are six cemeteries within the boundaries of Franklin Township.

Old Milan

North of Milan and bisected by State Route 101, it is one of the oldest cemeteries in Ripley County, the headstones face Old Milan Road as that was the main roadway at one time.

Located approximately 1.5 miles east off 500N from SR101, this is currently the only active cemetery in the Township.

Prattsburg Cemetery

Prattsburg Cemetery: located at 4063 East Co Road 650 North Milan, IN 47031. It was known as Stop #18 on the Underground Railroad.

Ransom Cemetery

Ransom Cemetery: located at: 5177-5195 North Co Road 800 East Milan, IN 47031 just 5 miles east around the curve on 500N where it becomes 800East, Ransom is truly an historic cemetery with several Civil War veterans interred.

St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery

St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery/State Road Church Cemetery/Old State Road Church Cemetery: located at 8665 Indiana State Highway 48; Milan, Indiana 47031. The cemetery is in Franklin Township on the north side of Indiana State Highway 48 about 0.3 miles northwest of its intersection with Indiana State Highway 101.
