Marshal Joshua Miller

Marshal Joshua Miller has built a distinguished career in public safety across multiple disciplines—law enforcement, emergency medical services, and fire response—spanning nearly two decades. Since beginning his career in 2008 as a Reserve Officer with the Jonesboro Police Department, he has demonstrated unwavering dedication and versatility.

Shortly after, Joshua was hired as a Part‑Time Deputy Marshal with the Fairmount Police Department and completed his formal law enforcement training as a proud graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Determined to serve his community beyond policing, he has been a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for nearly 20 years and holds firefighting certifications. He served concurrently on the Mill Township Fire Department and Grant County EMS, showcasing a deep commitment to multi‑agency response and community wellbeing.

Over the next decade, Marshal Miller served the Marion General Police Department for more than ten years, and later contributed his expertise to the Sweetser Police Department. Along the way, he cultivated strong partnerships with law enforcement agencies throughout Grant County, grounded in professional respect and a shared passion for public service.

Today, as Marshal of Swayzee, Joshua brings his diverse background and steadfast dedication to his role. He works tirelessly to ensure the safety of residents, build community trust, and strengthen collaborations with neighboring agencies. Marshal Miller’s career exemplifies the values of commitment, integrity, and service, and he continues to give his best every day for the Town of Swayzee.

Chief Deputy Dwayne Collins

Chief Deputy Dwayne Collins proudly serves the Town of Swayzee with over two decades of law enforcement and military experience. A U.S. Air Force veteran.

Following his honorable military service, Chief Deputy Collins joined the Gas City Police Department. Over a distinguished 20-year career, he held several leadership positions, including the rank of Captain. In these roles, he was responsible for patrol supervision, training development, and strategic planning, earning respect for his steady leadership and commitment to the community.

After retiring from Gas City PD, Chief Deputy Collins continued his dedication to law enforcement by joining the Swayzee Police Department. In his current role, he assists in overseeing daily department operations, supporting the Marshal, and strengthening community-police relations. A proud graduate of Madison-Grant High School and long-time resident of the area, Chief Deputy Collins remains deeply rooted in the Swayzee community. His lifelong service reflects his passion for public safety and his dedication to making Swayzee a safe place to live, work, and visit.
