We are excited to coordinate the first annual challenge, an eight-week competition, beginning April 1, 2026 and ending May 31, 2026, to engage Hoosiers in employer-supported volunteering.
As an employer, you are in a perfect position to encourage your employees to participate. Research on employer volunteer programs has shown a positive impact on businesses and organizations, including improved employee engagement, organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and retention.
Competing in the Indiana Employer Volunteer Challenge is a great chance for you to see how volunteering can positively affect your employees and company.
Who Can Participate?
It doesn’t matter how many employees you have—ANYONE can participate!
The Serve Indiana Employer Volunteer Challenge is an opportunity for employees who volunteer to receive recognition by tracking and reporting their hours, as well as for employees that may be first-time volunteers to try something that could help them develop additional skills or enthusiasm for their work. The three employers with the highest average number of volunteer hours per employee will be recognized. The employer with the highest number of volunteer hours per employee will receive a glass award in addition to being recognized.
In order to increase overall participation, we encourage you to register for the challenge in advance and to show your leadership by sharing the information with your networks. Employers may register any time beginning March 2026 and log employee volunteer hours that took place between April 1 and May 31.

Registration and Volunteer Hour Submission
Complete the Online Registration Form to compete in the Challenge. Please register by March 31 to be included in publicity throughout the Challenge. Registration will remain open through May 31. Those who register after April 1 may still submit employee volunteer hours starting on April 1.
Company points of contact will fill out and submit the online Report Volunteer Time Form to report employee volunteer hours from April 1 - May 31. Submitting hours weekly is recommended to help make sure volunteer hours are not forgotten. All hours must be submitted by June 8, to be included in calculating the winners.
