Housing

The Wayne County Health Department investigates public health complaints, including housing complaints. The goal of these inspections is to ensure that the property is in compliance with Indiana Code 16-20-1-25, as well as provide education to the owners and/or occupants of the dwelling. This helps to improve the quality of life of the occupants as well as protects their health and safety.

The Wayne County Health Department performs several home lead assessments and screenings to protect our children from lead paint and other lead hazards. In addition to lead assessments are the monitoring of homes that are unfit for human habitation to ensure the utmost safety of citizens that reside in Wayne County homes and apartments.

If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to file a complaint, please contact our office at 765-973-9245.
