The Indiana State Data Center maintains a print collection of statistical data from the U.S. Census Bureau, other federal agencies, and Indiana agencies from 1790 through the present on the 2nd floor of the library in the SDC Reference section. The Census Bureau conducts numerous demographic and economic surveys in addition to the decennial census, providing economic data on topics such as manufacturing, retail trade, wholesale trade, construction, and more. Agricultural data has been collected for over 150 years by the Census Bureau and eventually by the USDA. The State Library provides access to these print resources through the Federal Documents and SDC collections. The State Data Center also provides online access to statistics. See the new Research Guide – Finding Federal Data Sources.
