Adult Fiction
Louisiana Longshot by Jana DeLeon. In this humorous mystery, a CIA agent in hiding teams up with a couple of seemingly sweet old ladies to solve a murder.
This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page. Tilly Nightingale's husband, Joe, died months ago. Before his death, he arranged for her to receive a book a month from the local bookshop to help her through her first year without him.
Theo of Golden by Allen Levi. An older man, Theo, arrives in Golden, Georgia. He buys portraits of Golden citizens one at a time from a local coffeehouse. He then gifts these portraits back to those depicted--stories are told, and friendships are born.
The Final Target by Nora Roberts. Arden Bowie, an author, has a man who shows up at every one of her book signings. When he goes to her apartment and beats her, he is arrested and ends up in a psychiatric ward for five years. The five years are about up; will he find Arden?
Young Adult/Adult Fiction
The Harvester by Gene Stratton-Porter. A classic, wholesome love story set against the backdrop of the Limberlost Swamp in Adams and Jay counties of Indiana. This book offers a glimpse of Indiana from over 100 years ago, along with sympathetic, interesting characters.
Non-Fiction
1776 by David McCullough. McCullough dives into the struggles and personalities of the colonial military during the difficult period from 1775 to early 1777. It is a well-researched non-fiction page-turner.
