Welcome to the Indiana War Memorials
The Indiana War Memorial Historic District includes the Indiana War Memorial, Soldiers & Sailors Monument, American Legion Mall, Veterans Memorial Plaza, and University Park. IWM's properties also include 3 monuments on the Central Canal Walk; the USS Indianapolis (CA-35) Memorial, the Medal of Honor Memorial, and the Indiana 9/11 Memorial.
The Indiana War Memorial includes the Shrine Room, Pershing Auditorium, and the IWM Museum, featuring historic weapons, flags, vehicles, uniforms, and other military artifacts. Directly in front of IWM is Veterans Memorial Plaza, with Obelisk Fountain flanked by the flags of all 50 states. South of IWM is University Park, location of Depew Fountain and statues of President Abraham Lincoln, Vice President Schuyler Colfax, and Hoosier Civil War veteran President Benjamin Harrison.
American Legion Mall is the site of the American Legion National Headquarters, as well as the Indiana Veterans Center, home of the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs. In the center of ALM is the Cenotaph and Sunken Garden, around which stand the Indiana World War II Memorial, the Indiana Korean War and Vietnam War Memorials, and the Indiana Gold Star Families Memorial.
IWM comprises over 25 acres spanning more than 6 city blocks, with 3 parks and numerous monuments, statues, sculptures, and fountains in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. No state has a city with more monuments dedicated to veterans than Indianapolis, and no city in the country maintains more acreage honoring veterans than Indiana's capital. The Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs operates these facilities in pursuit of IWM's primary mission: to commemorate the valor and sacrifice of the United States Armed Forces and to honor Hoosier veterans and Indiana's role in the nation's conflicts.

Hours of Operation
- The Indiana War Memorial Museum is open Wednesday - Sunday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
- The Soldiers & Sailors Monument Gift Shop and Observation Level are open Friday, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
- The IWM Business Office is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
- IWM is closed on all National and State holidays except Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
Admission
- Adults (19-59): $10
- Seniors (60+): $5
- Children (5-18): $5
- Children Under 5: Free
- Military & Veterans: Free
A ticket to the Indiana War Memorial includes same-day admission to the Soldiers & Sailors Monument, and vice-versa. Admission to the Soldiers & Sailors Monument includes riding the elevator or taking the stairs up to the Observation Deck.
Bricks of Honor
The Indiana War Memorials Foundation commemorates veterans with "Bricks of Honor". Each brick is engraved with a veteran's name, rank, branch, and dates of service, and placed around the Soldiers & Sailors Monument in the heart of Indianapolis, ensuring that our heroes will never be forgotten. You can order a brick for a $125 tax-deductible charitable donation. You may also request the location of your brick and schedule a ceremony to have it installed with the veteran and family present.
